Terms of use

Last updated: 1 October 2026

In short. Hagolf is a free scoring app with optional extras you can buy once. Be honest and decent with the people on your cards. Your rounds are yours. We do our best to keep it running but cannot promise it never breaks, and a handicap worked out here is not an official one.

1. Who we are, and when these terms apply

Hagolf is provided by Hagworks, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) owned by Maurits van ’t Hag, the Netherlands (registration with the KvK, the Dutch Chamber of Commerce, is in progress), support@hagolf.app. These terms apply to the app at app.hagolf.app and to everything bought in it. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.

2. The service

Hagolf lets you score rounds of golf, keep leagues with other people, and make leaderboards, player cards and statistics. The core of the app is free: scoring any round, leagues ranked on Stableford with unlimited members, basic boards and cards, and two themes. Extras can be bought in the shop (see section 6).

Hagolf is not affiliated with any golf federation or club. Handicap strokes, net scores, points and course data shown in the app are worked out as carefully as we can, but they are not an official handicap or an official result. Check the card in the clubhouse before a competition.

3. Your account

4. Other people

The people on your cards are real. Enter their scores honestly, only add people who would expect to be on the card, and share cards only where they would expect it. Do not use search, invitations, links or sharing to bother, harass or spam anyone, and do not try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service. Anyone can block another user. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or someone’s safety stands in the way.

5. Your golf

Your rounds are yours. You give us permission to store them and show them to the people you share them with, as long as needed to provide the service. Cards are shared records: everybody on a card may correct it, and every correction is logged. A league’s organiser decides how it is scored and who may read its table. The posters and cards you make are yours to share as you like.

6. Purchases

Your right of withdrawal

As a consumer in the EU you normally have the right to cancel a purchase made online within 14 days without giving a reason. For digital content that is delivered straight away, this right ends once delivery has started, if you have agreed to that. When you buy something in the shop, you ask us to unlock it immediately and you expressly agree that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once the item is unlocked. If we have not unlocked an item you paid for, you can still cancel within 14 days and get your money back.

This does not affect your legal rights if an item does not work as described: tell us at support@hagolf.app and we will fix it or, if we cannot, refund you.

7. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep the service up, your data safe, and to fix what breaks, but we cannot promise that Hagolf is always available or free of errors. The app keeps working on your phone without a connection and sends your changes on later. We may change or improve the app; we will not take away something you bought without replacing it with something equivalent or refunding you. If we ever decide to stop the service, we will tell you at least three months in advance and give you time to download your data.

8. Liability

The free parts of Hagolf are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as a lost bet, a disputed competition result or missed prizes, or for loss caused by services we depend on. Our total liability towards you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused the damage, or €50 if that is higher. None of this limits liability for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, or any right you have under mandatory consumer law.

9. Ending

You can stop using Hagolf and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account also ends your purchases, because they belong to the account. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; if we close an account without good reason we refund what you paid for extras in the 12 months before.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the app gains new features or the law changes. If a change matters, the app tells you before you continue, and you can delete your account if you do not agree. The date at the top shows the latest version.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of that country. If you have a complaint, write to support@hagolf.app first; we aim to answer within 14 days. If we cannot solve it together, the competent court in the Netherlands decides, or the court where you live if consumer law gives you that choice.
